Full Scholarships for Master Programs at the Central European University
Central European University in Budapest, Hungary is a graduate-level “crossroads” university where faculty and students from more than 100 countries come to engage in interdisciplinary education, pursue advanced scholarship, and address some of society’s most vexing problems. It is accredited in both the United States and Hungary, and offers English-language Master’s and doctoral programs in the social sciences, the humanities, law, management and public policy.
CEU offers a broad range of Master’s degree programs (find list here):
- One-year Master’s degree programs – typically run for 10 months, admitting students who have a four-year Bachelor’s degree;
- Two-year Master’s degree programs – typically admitting students who have a three-year Bachelor’s degree.
CEU awards an extensive range of financial aid packages to support students in its Master’s degree programs.
Applicants must have a first degree from a recognized university or institution of higher education. For its one-year US accredited Master’s programs, CEU normally accepts students who have completed four years of undergraduate university study. Applicants with a three-year Bachelor’s degree will be considered for two-year Master’s programs.
Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English by submitting standardized English language test scores, e.g., the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or other substitute tests.
The Full CEU Scholarship covers:
- the full cost of tuition and medical insurance;
- a monthly stipend of HUF 96 000 (EUR 312) designed to assist with the cost of meals and miscellaneous expenses;
- housing in the CEU Residence Center for students coming from outside Budapest.
The Partial CEU Scholarship covers:
- the full cost of tuition and medical insurance;
- a monthly stipend of HUF 50,000 (EUR 160) designed to assist with the cost of meals and miscellaneous expenses;
- housing in the CEU Residence Center for students coming from outside Budapest.
All application materials must be submitted with the online application form (with the exception of letters of recommendation, which may be mailed if recommenders are unable to complete them online). Application deadline is February 1, 2015.
