International Peace Youth Forum 2014 in Baku (Azerbaijan)
From the 18th to the 21st of September, 2014, Integration of Azerbaijani Youth to Europe Organization (AGAT), with the support of the Azerbaijani Youth Foundation, will be organizing the "International Peace Youth Forum" in Baku, Azerbaijan.
AGAT, with the participation of active youth from Europe, is planning to implement "International Peace Youth Forum." The forum will consist of panels, discussions and a short trip. The main topics of the forum will be:the obstacles peace faces in the region, peace-building in the Southern Caucasus as well as Azerbaijan’s state policy on refugees and IDPs as a result of the occupation of the Nagorno-Karabakh.
The main objective of the project is to inform European youth about the role of Azerbaijan in peace building in the region, to contribute to Azerbaijani-European youth cooperation and to inform European youth about Azerbaijani realities, especially about Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
During this project, participants will have the opportunity to meet personally with refugees and IDPs who are living in Baku, Agdam and Fuzuli, to inform themselves about the of relevant peace-keeping efforts of Azerbaijan, and finally to participate in the creation of a short movie aimed at telling the true story of the lives of refugees and IDPs. A notable participant will be the Peace One Day organization.
Opened to: participants between the ages of 18 and 35 years old from Europe, youth workers who take an activity on peace building issues and had experience on IDP and Refugees related issues. Accommodation, food and travel expenses will be covered by AGAT. All other information will be provided after selection of the participants. Deadline: the 10th of August 2014.
