A Photographic Contest as Part of the European Intercultural Festival-2013

A photographic competition is being held in Belarus as a part of the country’s first European Intercultural Festival 2013. The theme of the competition is “European neighbourhood” which aims to spark interest towards Europe and Belarus and demonstrate to what extent European values have been adopted in Belarus, as well as to examine the meaning of “European neighbourhood” for ordinary Belarusians. The price for the winner is a two-daytrip to Brussels and the first and second runner ups will also receive memorable prices. The works of the finalists will be displayed in an online exhibition on the websites of our partners and in the case of a large amount of high-quality entries, a photo exhibition will be organised in Minsk.

The annual European Intercultural Festival is a joint project between Belarusian and international organisations, as well as European diplomatic representations in Minsk. The aim of the festival, which is held in May in Minsk and other large Belarusian cities, is to provide Belarusians the possibility to learn more about the history and culture of EU member states and the other states taking part in the Eastern Partnership Initiative – Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
