In the next three years, Belarus will hold three different elections: local elections in 2014, presidential elections in 2015 and parliamentary elections in 2016. The main challenge is how to attract and involve the so-called “new majority”: app. 60% Belarusians who neither support the current president nor vote for the political opposition. People’s Referendum is a three years-long plan of cooperation between several Belarusian political forces that aims to address this challenge.
