The team of Mops Shmopstook part in the Biz4all-2 social entrepreneurship training school, and we are always happy to follow up with our participants to see how they are growing and succeeding. Natallia Bublei and Vitaly Paulahradsky, who set up the Mops Shmopssocial enterprise in Minsk, originally conceived it to be a place that sells tasty and healthy dog treats. Natallia says that a year after they started selling they realized that they should not get stuck on deserts only. The entrepreneurs now plan to open a shop of environmentally friendly goods for dogs, and Mops Shmopshas added biodegradable paper dog poo bags and environmentally friendly dog toys to their range of products.
«Female entrepreneurship with a social focus» is the first programme in Belarus developed to teach women about the basics of managing a socially-oriented business. The programme brought together 40 women aged from 18 to 45 who wanted to create a socially-oriented enterprise or had already launched their social business.
Estonia has no separate law on social entrepreneurship, but the sector has been actively developing for several decades. ODB spoke with an Estonian expert on the development of such enterprises in Estonia, support measures from the state and business, as well as future expectations.
At the end of the year It is traditional to look back on one’s achievements, and we decided to take stop of our work in 2018. We organized about 80 events: seminars, round tables, forums and trainings, expert meetings and working groups. We are grateful to our colleagues, partners and experts for being with us throughout all that time.
