Kseniya Kireeva has entered her third year of social design studies at BSU.  This is a fairly new specialty at the university, which is about creating and managing social projects. However, according to the graduate of the First Social Entrepreneurship School for Teenagers “SEI Youth. My First Business”, organized by Belarusian Youth Public Union "New Faces" and ODB Brussels within the framework of the EU-funded project “Social Entrepreneurship  Incubator”, the university course lacks focus on business skills and a non-formal approach. Kseniya was able to learn both of those during the school for teenagers. Kseniya talked to ODB Brussels about her social project on inclusive theatre.

ODB Brussels covered the social business "Regular Charity Races “Angels’ Wings” in Minsk” in our article “Biz4all. Only Forward: Angels' Wings Team Organizes Regular Athletics Races”. The campaign ended successfully a month ago, and the running team have already come back from the USA. Dmitry and Irina speak to ODB Brussels about the crowdfunding campaign, their expectations for the overseas trip and the reality.

Hanna Hrydziushka came to the EU-funded Biz4all Social Incubator Entrepreneurship programme with the initiative to organize English-language tours of Minsk within the framework of Heta Belarus, Dzietka! project. It is an in-demand line of business which does not have a lot of competition at the moment. Its main social mission is to promote the culture of Belarus in Europe, promote the positive image of our country abroad and break down negative stereotypes. The target audience is not just young people but European retirees as well.

The second floor of a 1912 building in the historic centre accommodates three cozy rooms of "Portal" Recreation and Development Centre. Being the perfect hosts, Ivan Petushok, who manages the project, and coordinator Anastasiya Grigoruk, greet me with a smile at the foot of stairs to the second floor. They started to lovingly create the space with their own hands a few years ago. Then, Ivan tells us, it became clear that they lack business skills to develop the business further. He saw the ODB Brussels newsletter advertising the "Social Entrepreneurship Incubator”. That is how the Hrodna team became an active participant of the EU-funded Biz4all programme.

The team of the village of Aksakauschyna of Minsk district led by Maria Daschynskaya is taking part in the EU-funded Biz4all Social Entrepreneurship Incubator programme. The main goal of the team is to create a social enterprise “Vozmozhno Vse” (“Everything is Possible”) in the village. The enterprise will be a rural development centre, which will provide a platform to develop infrastructure, entrepreneurship and additional informal education of the local population. Such activities are necessary to ensure interaction between the villagers and unite the local community to resolve their urgent problems.

For several years now, start-up club “Prityazheniye” (“Attraction”) has brought together ambitious and energetic entrepreneurs and freelancers. The club is led by Marina Matsulevich, a certified business coach and a very proactive person. Marina came to the EU-funded Biz4all "Social Entrepreneurship Incubator” programme with the idea to develop crowdfunding and crowd investing at her online platform. However, Biz4all  trainings offered her an opportunity to communicate with mentors and study target audience, demonstrating that other areas are more needed to help young entrepreneurs to promote their products and services on modern web platforms.

Like many other participants of the EU-funded Biz4all "Social Entrepreneurship Incubator" programme, Yelena Strakh and her team came to the project with a big idea in mind. The enterprising ladies were planning to open a café which would serve dried herbs, natural herbal teas and sweet treats made according to old grandma’s recipes, such as fritters, sugared cranberries or baked honey glazed apples. After going through a number of Biz4all training modules, the team switched to a local concept, even though "Phytochaynik" still has some big plans.

“Essential Capital” is yet another company taking part in the Biz4all Social Entrepreneurship Incubator  programme, which is organized with support from the EU. Dmitry Klimkovich, who created the business, is an energetic young man with kind eyes and a lot of ideas. I meet him in the Administration of Moskovsky District of Minsk, where “Printing Laboratory”, the small social enterprise, is located. It is being remodelled, because after a year Dmitry is planning to expand the company and open a new line of business. While the employees are assembling shelves and arranging goods, Dmitry tells me about the opportunities for developing a social business in Belarus.
