On November 16, 2016, ODB Brussels in partnership with the Support Programme of Belarus of the Federal Government of Germany hosted a seminar "Social Entrepreneurship in Belarus and the World". The event was organized within the framework of Global Entrepreneurship Week in Belarus with a view of exchanging experiences and establishing professional contacts between Belarusian social entrepreneurship. Participants of the seminar in Minsk were presented with examples of environmental, catering, trade, education, transport, sports and leisure social enterprises from the Netherlands.

After Yulya and Lena Stefnyak, twin eighth-graders participated this summer in the first Belarusian school of social entrepreneurship for teenagers «SEI Youth: My First Business», organized by ODB Brussels and  Belarusian Youth Public Union "New Faces", their behaviour in interviews resembles that of real business ladies, not of ordinary schoolgirls. These are open-hearted, sincere girls with a twinkle in the eye, who really want to improve accessibility for people with disability.

Oleg Galtsev, Belarusian programmer and graduate of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) of the U.S. Embassy in Belarus, is launching the first bionics startup in Belarus. The inventor has designed a functional prosthetic right arm for his father, who lost his arm about 20 years ago. The programmer has created a "smart" prosthetic arm that costs  almost 30 times less than an alternative product from Germany.

ODB Brussels continues to study the examples of social entrepreneurship in the world and in Belarus. Today we ask questions Maria Cheriakova, our countrywoman, who lives and works in the Netherlands, about the Ecosystem of Social Entrepreneurship. In April this year, at the 3d National Social Forum (Minsk, Belarus)  Masha presented the results of the research she conducted jointly with Olga Kapachenia, based on the open sources analysis and interviews with Belarusian entrepreneurs. From August 13 to 18, 2016, the first training on social entrepreneurship for young people and teenagers was organized by the Belarusian Youth Non-Governmental Organization "New Faces" and the Belgian non-profit organization "ODB Brussels" within the framework of "Social Entrepreneurship Incubator" programme in Lyaskouka village.

ODB Brussels (Belgium)  co-organised a round-table on the prospects of social entrepreneurship in Belarus that became part of the first Belarusian Entrepreneurship Week, in Minsk. The event, was jointly conducted by the Ministry of Economy of BelarusRepublican Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Belarus), Social Business Technologies (Minsk) and ODB Brussels (Belgium), gathered representatives of Belarusian CSOs and social enterprises, Ulej crowdfunding platform (Belarus), Russia's Fund of Regional Social Programs "Our Future", as well as a number of students.
